Shopping for teenagers is tricky! It’s hard to know what will be gratefully received and what will be a waste of money. With this in mind, we have teamed up with two 17-year-olds who have guest written the following article for us.

Fifty things teenagers want for Christmas:

1.     Sheet face mask

This sheet mask collection is a perfect stocking filler as it has a cooling and moisturising effect perfect for at-home pampering!

2.     Car keys

Any 17 year old, me included, would be over the moon to receive any car for Christmas, so putting a set of car keys in their stocking is a great idea for a surprise gift.

3.     Fake tan

As a teen living in the UK, it can be hard to find opportunities to catch the sun, so if you want to be sun kissed by the time next summer comes around this is a perfect choice.

4.     Phone case

Phone cases are great for any occasion, try and find a phone case suited to your interests or aesthetic.

5.     Chocolate

You’re going to want something tasty to give you energy to open all your gifts, and chocolate is a classic tasty snack.

6.     Portable charger

As a student I’m always on the go, and portable chargers often save the day when I’m running low on battery.

7.     Gift voucher H&M

Any clothes shop voucher is likely to be a hit for a teenager, but H&M is a staple for affordable basics, and a voucher makes that shopping trip even more affordable.

8.     Makeup

Makeup is a great stocking filler choice due to its small size and popularity amongst teenage girls. If you’re stuck on what makeup to get, try something like Maybelline Sky High mascara, a social media hit!

9.     Jewellery

If you’re like me, you know that good jewellery makes the outfit! Try adding some affordable jewellery, such as these simple yet cute gold hoops!

10.  Stickers for scrapbooking

If your teen wants to get in touch with their creative side, journaling and scrapbooking is a great hobby, and some cute stickers are a scrapbooking must have.

11.  Gum

Gum is a small and affordable stocking filler, and you can choose from a variety of flavours!

12.  Lash clusters

This is a perfect drink for cosy winter nights in, and you can make it more interesting for your teen by trying hot chocolates made by your favourite chocolate brands or choose something exciting like a hot chocolate bomb!

If your teen is a music lover, consider getting them one or two CDs of their favourite artists. Many people think that CDs are a dying format, but recently physical media has made a comeback so that teens can support their favourite artists.

Whether your teen already has a signature scent or wants to try something new, perfume is a great present, no matter what brand or scent you choose.

Body lotion can make you feel and smell good. One I recommend is this lotion from Vaseline.

Continuing down the lip care route, lip masks are a great way to hydrate your lips- and they’re pretty cheap too!

Keeping warm and toasty in winter is made ten times easier by purchasing some fluffy socks! Try gifting your child socks with the colour and patterns they like.

22.  Water bottle

For busy teens rushing from one class to another, a sturdy water bottle is essential for those exhausting days out.

If your child wants to have a ‘glow up’, what about gifting them some teeth-whitening strips so they can have a bright white smile when they go back to school?

For a teen who loves gaming a good headset is an essential to their gaming setup.

If your child needs an upgrade and keeps complaining about their “old” phone, why not gift them with a brand-new model?

Socks may seem a boring gift idea; however, your sporty teen would greatly appreciate some sport related socks.
